We have a lot of big news out of Cedar Rapids today. The first is that a controversial liquor store on First Ave. SE has had its license pulled because it’s too close to a church. The City Council has also agreed to move ahead with some buyouts. People have been getting antsy; it’s been nearly four months since the floods, and they want to see progress. This is the first step. Is it enough?

On a much lighter note, today is the last day to vote in our poll about the best of tailgating. Where are the best places to hang out before (and during, and after) Hawkeye games in Iowa City? We’ll announce the winners Oct. 18.
