We might just have a solution for you. We recently launched our new, improved calendar function on GazetteOnline.

What makes this calendar so cool is that it takes events from all around the region — and all around The Gazette and other publications we put out — and puts them in one place. So you don’t have to figure out what section the event you’re looking for was listed in, because if we have it, it’s right here.

Some other cool things:

  • You can submit events online for yourself
  • You can search events by category or keyword to find something to do
  • You can subscribe to a category of events or events near you through your RSS reader
  • You can even post the calendar on your own Web site as a widget

If you couldn’t tell, we’re pretty excited about this. It’s still new, but we think you’ll find it very useful.

And as always, if you have feedback for us, you can send us an e-mail or leave a comment.

It promises to be a big week here again. Today through Wednesday, we’ll be taking your questions for Linn County Supervisor candidates. You can join that chat here.

We’re also going to start experimenting with link journalism. I’ve added a sidebar called ” Interesting Links” to this site, and it’s a look at news from all over the Internet, compiled by a new service called Publish2. The stories are picked by journalists. Soon, we hope to have a round up of the things people in our newsroom think are interesting there, as well. We’re trying to give our readers more information all the time, and we’re hoping that this service works out. Love it? Hate it? Let us know, either in the comments or by e-mail.
