No credit for guessing the big story of today. The Gazette will be leading off with a story about the failure of the bailout bill to pass the House and the effect that had on Wall Street. (For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, it was not a good effect.)

We’ll also have a story about which businesses are getting federal aid after June’s flooding. While the popular perception is that all the money is going to rebuild downtown, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

A question for all our readers: How much does the bad economic news of the last few weeks actually matter to you? Are you feeling a pinch, or is it a vague feeling of unease? Or are you happily still investing? Let us know, either in the comments or by e-mailing jamie.kelly@gazcomm.com
